About mineral rights and oil and gas
Mineral rights can be separated from the land and sold or leased on their own. Mineral deeds, oil and gas leases and royalty transfers are recorded with the county deeds office like any other deed, so the county records show who owns them. The state oil and gas regulator keeps well permits, production reports and operator records.
